Google DNS is here

Thats a cool IP address, easy to remember and never forgets.
8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4
Pretty cool, huh? Well this is Google's DNS server address. Just rolled out yesterday (December 3rd 2009) and going the serve the world for the rest of the time. I am using Google's DNS now while I am typing in this blog article.

Till now I was using OpenDNS which I liked very much. But now switching to Google Public DNS, coz its much faster. It just took 144ms to ping in 8.8.8.8 where as 208.67.222.222 took more than 200ms. (from India)
Check out the image below.

And no offense to OpenDNS. They are very fast and secure and we can have pretty much control on what requests should be served. But lemme check out what Google has got in hands.
